Plasma Skin Regeneration

Plasma skin regeneration works by delivering pulses of nitrogen-based plasma to the surface of the skin. Nitrogen is a colorless, odorless gas that is part of all living tissues and makes up 80% of the atmosphere. When introduced to ultra-high frequency energy, the nitrogen is converted into a highly charged ionized gas, known as plasma. The plasma energy is used to penetrate the skin structure, causing a very controlled heating of tissue to stimulate and regenerate the skin naturally, replacing old, damaged collagen with new collagen. This procedure allows the preserved outer layers of skin to act as a protective dressing until new skin regenerates.

Plasma Skin regeneration is the only skin treatment proven to generate new skin for as long as a year after treatment. A typical treatment session lasts approximately 30 minutes, depending on the treatment regimen selected and the area of the face being treated. Depending on the level of treatment, the clinician will recommend either topical anesthetic cream or anesthetic injections with or without oral medication. Some patients may feel sensation of heat during the procedure.

Recovery time is between 7 to 10 days, with mild to moderate redness. Some patients may notice a browning of the skin over the first three to five days after treatment, followed bry peeling and flaking as the new skin is regenerated.
